By Team Register, 5 Oct 2016

Russia is considering implementing fines for illegal downloading of copyrighted content.

Fines would complement the difficult task of having torrent sites shut down, sources told Vzglyad

It comes after Russian President Valdamir Putin in April called Russia's copyright protections "insufficient" and follows attempts to blacklist torrent site ru tracker. ®
