Russia mulls pirate penalties

Russia is considering implementing fines for illegal downloading of copyrighted content.

Local media, citing sources familiar with an early-stage proposalå, say it could mimic German laws where illegal downloaders can be fined under cease-and-desist orders capped at ‎around €100 for simple infringement.
