Save us, Jack Dorsey!

A US Senator is asking Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to help block what he sees as an attempt by Russia to influence US elections via Twitter.

Delaware's Tom Carper (D) personally reached out to the Twitter boss over concerns about Russian "social cyberattacks" that would use sock puppet accounts to spread misinformation in the run-up to the presidential balloting.

According to NextGov, Carper wants Dorsey to explain Twitter's plans to deal with such attempts to influence the election and to "protect our democracy from these potential threats". ®
