Got a genius enterprise tech idea? Tell the world about it

Vultures line up with Tech Trailblazer Awards

We hear plenty about genius startups that might change the way we communicate, shop, or date. We hear a lot less about the genius startups that are focused on innovating in the enterprise - you know, the place where you spend most of your lives.

That’s why The Register has become the media partner for the 2016 Tech Trailblazer awards, which eschews the merely shiny and fluffy, and seeks to highlight real innovation, by real companies, in real enterprise technology.

And it’s also why we’re advising you that if you want to submit a reduced cost, early bird entry, you’ve got less than 24 hours to do it.

Over the last six years, over 400 companies have put themselves through the mill for the chance to win acclaim, advice and, indirectly, funding.

There are 11 categories in all, including areas such as big data, cloud, IoT, virtualization, storage, and security. New this year are two individual awards, Female and Male Tech Trailblazer of the Year, aimed at senior execs in these trailblazing startups excelling in the key areas of innovation, diversity, agility and leadership.

All you need to do is be a company that’s less than six years old, privately funded, or at C-series stage, and able to pay the entry fee, which maxes out at $250. The closing date for early bird entries is August 4, with the main entry cut-off coming on September 8

The judging panel then takes over, producing a shortlist of entries, which then goes out to a public vote, before the esteemed winners are announced in the New Year.

It’s as simple as that - and let’s face it, you’ve done the hardest part already, by putting your ideas into practice in the first place.

If you need some guidance on how to craft a winning entry, check out this guide by head judge, Stephen O’Donnell.

So don’t just wait for the world to recognise your brilliance. Head to the website, craft your entry, and get blazing. ®
