ARM founder now Hon. Sir

By Alexander J Martin, 6 Jul 2016

Hermann Hauser, the founder of Acorn Computers and ARM, has been given an honorary knighthood for his services to engineering and industry.

Sir Hermann, who is an Austrian national, has been recognised for his “vital role in the growth of Cambridge’s cluster of high-tech companies.”

As he is not a British citizen, he was not entitled to receive the honour from Her Majesty, and instead was bestowed with the KBE by Business Secretary Sajid Javid. ®
