Verizon union pact official

Verizon has ratified its deal with the Communication Workers of America (CWA).

The US telecom giant and the CWA have formalized the contract they had tentatively agreed to in May after a six-week strike that saw Verizon field workers in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions walk off the job.

The new contract will cover 36,000 employees working primarily on Verizon's copper and fiber networks. The deal will run until August 3, 2019. ®
