Marginally productive employees and journalists around the world have been plunged into crisis today as the Slack chat service has gone down.
The Slack status page has confirmed what everyone feared: both the Slack API and the website itself have been hit with an outage.
"We're very sorry for the interruption to your days and we're taking steps now to address the problems uncovered during this incident," Slack said.
"We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure our changes completely fix the problem before closing this incident."
Though service soon resumed, the damage caused by the incident was immediate and severe:
I briefly had to use Google Hangouts for 3 minutes while Slack was down and now I might sue for pain and suffering
