LibreOffice goes cloudy

LibreOffice can now run in the cloud, just like Office365.

Crafted by the team behind Web desktop eyeOS, the Open 365 document collaboration and file synch service is open for beta now.

The service, here, is based on LibreOffice, with file synch/share provided by Seafile.

The beta comes with 20 GB of free storage – there's no word yet on post-beta storage – and comes with clients for the Web, Windows / Linux / Mac desktops, and Android devices.

Sysadmins are promised a self-contained version they can spin up on their own networks, so they don't have to entrust the company jewels to the cloud. ®
