GoDaddy CTO quits

GoDaddy’s chief techie is leaving the web host, reportedly for Google.

Elissa Murphy joined GoDaddy in May 2010 from Yahoo!, where she’d served as vice president of engineering for Hadoop cloud services. Before Yahoo!, Murphy had been with Microsoft since 1997.

GoDaddy announced Murphy’s exit in a regulatory filing.

GoDaddy’s chief executive Blake Irving is reported to have congratulated Murphy on her move to Google, noting she’d been “instrumental” in GoDaddy’s evolution. ®
