Long-time Silicon Valley management icon Bill Campbell has died.
Campbell, who was 75, left a job coaching sports at Columbia University to go into marketing, leading Intuit and serving as an adviser to Apple and Google.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Campbell spent time with Kodak and Apple before becoming the CEO of Intuit. In the late 1990s, he was a director at Apple advising Steve Jobs. Later he would serve the same role for Google, joining the board of directors in Mountain View. ®
