Dodgy amphetamines drive drug-crazed man on to pub roof

Lancashire cops issue contaminated whizz warning after four are hospitalised

Lancashire cops have issued a warning to Blackburn speed-lovers after a "contaminated" batch of amphetamines prompted four cases of extreme aggression and adverse physical reaction.

The dodgy whizz has resulted in four men ending up in hospital, suffering from convulsions, "dangerously high heart rates" and "a complete inability to engage in conversation or control their actions".

The force elaborated:

The most recent incidents took place on Sunday night (27 September) into the early hours of Monday morning, where two men aged 33 and 47 had to be sedated. One of the men had to be restrained by six police officers and was only calmed after having anaesthetic administered.

In another recent case, a 24-year-old man climbed a seven-foot wall and then a tree before being detained for his own welfare. A separate man aged 30 climbed on to the roof of a pub.

Sgt Pete Latham asked anyone with info on the bad narcotics to get in touch "before someone else takes them and potentially puts themselves at risk of serious harm".

Amphetamines are rated as a Class-B drug in the UK, along with "barbiturates, cannabis, codeine, ketamine, methylphenidate (Ritalin), synthetic cannabinoids, synthetic cathinones (eg mephedrone, methoxetamine)".

Possession of Class-B goodies carries a penalty of "up to 5 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both", while supplying or manufacturing could land the perp in jail for 14 years, and also possibly slapped with an unlimited fine. ®
