Arrrr GOSH! Argos website goes titsup to make it EVEN BETTER
Who ya gonna call? High Street retailer apologises for blunder
UK High Street retailer Argos, which recently made a big deal of sexing up its store, is suffering from a major online outage right now.
The company coughed to the blunder just before midday by saying sorry to its customers.
We’re sorry for problems you’re facing online this morning, we’re working to fix these as quick as we can. Apologies for any inconvenience.

However, it was a different story over on Argos' website, where it boldly proclaimed:
Sorry. We're offline right now to make our site even better. Please come back later and check out what we’ve been up to.
Call this digital?! Bring back the tiny pencils and doorstop catalogues
What is this? A pastiche of Apple's online store? No doubt, customers can't wait to fondle the shop's latest line of kettles.
Some customers said they were dismayed by Argos' lengthy sit-down.
@Argos_Online it's been down since 11 last night... I am not amused! 12 hours of outage must be seriously affecting your business

It also appears that Argos is suffering in-store problems with its IT system, too:
And thats why I do all my shopping online. Over 20 mins in #argos for 3 items #joke. Even electronic payment system broke

wonderful time in @Argos_Online Marble Arch. Not an inch of technology working, but staff sublime.

The major blunder comes after Argos revamped some of its stores late last year as part of its "digital concept" strategy. ®
