Reg hack scores coveted journalism prism

Vulture South comes up trumps at Australian IT Journalism awards

The Register's Asia-Pacific editor Simon Sharwood has taken home one of the striking polymer prisms on offer at the 12th Annual Optus Australian IT Journalism Awards.

Sharwood won the "Best Technology Industry Journalist" category, awarded to "the journalist who has best covered the ICT Industries in Australia".

Sharwood's entry comprised stories on what it feels like to be fired when you're 50, the impact of technology on a remote aboriginal community and an investigation into industry feedback on Australia's digital technologies curriculum.

Reg man Richard Chirgwin was a finalist in the "Best Technical Writer" category. ®
