Apple fanbois DENIED: Mac Pro deliveries stalled until April

It's the high-end desktop that's been likened to Darth Vader's dustbin. But not even the Force can help fanbois get their hands on a Mac Pro – because Apple has yet again pushed back its delivery date.

We previously revealed how anyone who ordered a Pro would have to wait until April to get their hands on one, but it now appears that even early birds are being left to wait.

Apple have been contacting people who ordered new Mac Pros in December and January to tell them they won't be getting their new computer this month.

One Register reader contacted us to wail about the absence of his shiny new computer.

"I ordered mine in early January and was given a “Ships in February” date, but I just received a phone call from Apple in Ireland saying it won’t now be delivered until early March," he said.

"The Apple order status web page is also currently returning an error so I’m guessing there is a large batch update of new ship dates going on."

Other customers have grumbled to website Mac Rumours about the same problem. Their fanboi said he, too, had excitedly bought a new Mac Pro back in January, whereupon he was given a February delivery date. However, he was recently told that he wouldn't be seeing the Pro until the first few weeks in March.

The Mac Pro is a high end professional computer aimed at people who like to do more with their machines than just look at porn and chat on Facebook.

It comes without a monitor and starts at £2,499 for the basic model, with a 3.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 processor.

To buy a fully-loaded ninja machine with 1Tb of storage, a 12 core processor and 64GB of RAM would cost a mammoth £7,779, which sounds more like executive than professional level.
