Museum of Computing recognised as PROPER MUSEUM

So IT really is old fashioned and boring now

The Museum of Computing has been awarded full accreditation with the Arts Council of England, which means it is now officially a brilliant curator of all things tech.

The museum, which is located in Swindon town centre and open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays, was required to meet stringent standards to bag the accreditation.

It had to show how well the computing exhibition hall was governed and managed as well as demonstrating that it could provide good services and facilities to visitors viewing its collections.

The Arts Council award was handed to the museum in part because it had a "remarkable archive" that was accessible to people living nearby and attractive to visitors from Blighty and the rest of the world.

"This is exciting and rewarding news. Accreditation is the culmination of years of work by our volunteers to bring the museum up to professional standards, and to ensure that we provide experiences for our visitors that are both enjoyable and educational," said chuffed curator Simon Webb. ®
