Huawei reveals Ascend P1 launch plans

Huawei has announced the availability of its forthcoming super-thin Android smartphone, the Ascend P1, which the company plans to roll out across Europe this summer.

The Ascend P1 will touch down with a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor running Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The 7.7mm-thick device features a 4.3in touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 protected by the durable Corning Gorilla Glass.

Memory wise, the P1 packs 1GB of Ram and 4GB of Flash. There's also an 8Mp rear-facing camera, a 1.3Mp front-facer, and Dolby Mobile for surround sound compatibility when connected to your telly.

The Huawei Ascend P1, which is available from today in China before embarking on a mission to follow its budget sibling, the Ascend G300, into Europe this June.

Prices have yet to be set, although you might look towards the Chinese price tag of CNY2999 (£296) for a rough estimate. ®
