Scottish TV news pumps goatse link
Och aye the NOOO
Viewers of Scottish TV news were treated to a close-up of a link to internet super-meme goatse in yesterday's lunchtime bulletin.
An eagle-eyed Reg reader spotted the gaffe and alerted Vulture Towers.
Telly reporters routinely struggle for images to witter over while covering tech stories: a situation made worse when covering annoyingly anonymous hackers like the alleged hacker arrested in the Shetlands.
So they resorted to close-ups of LulzSec's Twitter feed. Specifically, 47 seconds in, the message: "For anyone that doesn't know what goatse is, check it out here, it's really eye-opening:"
To be fair they did better than the lads and lasses at Sky News who referred to "the Louise Boat" while showing images of the same LulzSec Twitter feed in the wake of the Sun.
YouTube kept Sky's Louise Boat moment.
If you don't know what the goatse image is, we advise you keep it that way, or at least finish your breakfast first. ®
