Next MacBook Air to get Ram, SSD, CPU boost

Release rumours rescheduled

Apple's next 11.6in MacBook Airs will incorporate 128GB SSDs across the range and arrive with 4GB of memory as standard. They'll debut late next week.

The 13.3in model, which already comes with a 128GB SSD, will get the Ram boost too.

The spec suggestion comes from Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who told the stock broker's clients he thinks the new machines will sport 1.6GHz Core i5-2467M, 1.7GHz Core i7-2637M and 1.8GHz Core i7-2677M processors, AppleInsider relays.

Separately, moles cited by AllTHingsD say the new Airs will debut late next week with backit keyboards - the current ones lack this MacBook Pro standard feature - and the Thunderbolt monitor/peripheral port.

Apple is believed to be waiting for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion's debut before it releases new machines, with the new OS inconveniently failing to meet its rumoured 14 July release. Flippin' Apple - why doesn't it listen to the bloggers? ®
