Kiwi gals swig shots of horse semen

The hard cases among you who subscribe to the "I'll drink anything, me" school are directed to the Green Man Pub in Wellington, which is serving up shots of apple-infused horse semen.

The tempting equine oyster concoction - dubbed Hoihoi tatea - forms part of the NZ boozer's entry into the 14th annual Monteith's Beer & Wild Food Challenge, and the stallion magic water is apparently proving popular with women.

The pub's chef, Jason Varley, said: "Ladies thought it was great - a couple were going to go home and get their husbands to eat grass."

While Hoihoi tatea's hint of fresh pasture is evidently a delight for the palate, a couple of female cutomers "were worried they might bear children with long faces", Varley quipped.

The chef said blokes weren't as keen on horse semen, although some have "manned-up", necked a shot and declared it "palatable". Varley himself described the brew as "like custard".

If you're tempted to quaff a Hoihoi tatea and test the "possible health benefits of drinking semen due to the possibility of boosted testosterone levels due to the DHEA hormone", be warned it doesn't come cheap. The Green Man spunked 300 NZ bucks for 20 vials of the essential fluid.
