Woman fingers ex in 15-foot strip pole theft mystery

'Smooth pole' disappears into thin air

A Florida woman has turned on her ex-boyfriend after the sudden disappearance of her 15-foot "expert dancing pole" following the couple's breakup.

NBC Miami reports that the 19-year-old woman discovered the $400 pole had vanished into thin air when she returned to her ex-boyfriend's apartment to retrieve her stuff in the wake of their split.

For his part, the boyfriend told police he'd been out shopping and that someone must have broken in and swiped the pole along with unspecified accessories.

A blogger for local news site TCpalm notes, "Generally speaking, pole dancing involves a sensual dance in the context of a pole, a practice often employed by exotic dancers at strip clubs. While advanced pole dancing necessitates elevated levels of strength, stamina and flexibility, in the gentlemen's club setting the practice is in many cases combined with a striptease or related adult activities."

Certainly the pole is a serious bit of kit, as the manufacturer's site explains.

"The XPERT is the worlds first 'bottom' loading, static and spinning dance pole," and is designed with "professional dancers and pole tricks in mind".

Crucially, it adds, "The XPERT also incorporates a special adjuster cover which, when in place, creates a totally smooth pole from top to bottom. No cover edge to hit or lumpy bearing protrusion, just smooth pole all the way." Which is reassuring.

www.pole-dancing-pole.co.uk names the XPERT as the best bet for intermediate to advanced pole dancers, adding, "this pole really does have it all". ®
