Naked cemetery man was simply photographing orbs

A Mississippi man found naked in a cemetery explained to Sheriff's deputies that he was not indulging in indecent exposure but was simply looking to snap some "spirit orb" photos.

Robert T Hurst, 47, was reeled in by deputies after a man was "photographed naked and setting up his own camera on a tripod by a game camera in the cemetery", the Picayune Item reports. The "game" camera had been installed after a spate of vandalism at the bone yard.

A local police officer recognised the man as the same individual he'd pulled over as part of a routine traffic stop.

Hurst was eventually tracked down and held in the local slammer pending a $500 bond.

Hurst told a reporter that there was nothing untoward about his nudey photo session: he was simply pursuing a year-long hobby of "orb photography". Apparently the cemetery was a grand place for snapping the mysterious circles of light, some of which give the impression of being faces.

And if you're going to be snapping these eerie manifestations, argued Hurst, of course it's best to be stark bollock naked, as bare skin makes the best canvas for this particular photographical cul de sac.

Hurst said he'd only intended to take off his shirt, but before he knew what was happening, he'd shed the rest of his kit.

This is of course perfectly plausible, as anyone familiar with the glamour industry knows: "Go on, show a bit of shoulder. Lovely. Now, just slip that strap down." Except usually the snapper and the neophyte inadvertently stripping off are two separate people.

Hurst now faces an indecent exposure charge. On the upside, the police have cleared Hurst of being responsible for the vandalism that prompted the installation of the camera in the first place. ®
