Meet the Oz teen behind Operation Titstorm

Steve Slayo on trial for DoS attacks against Aussie baby-kissers

An Australian teenager has gone on trial for organising denial of service attacks on websites run by comms minister Stephen Conroy and the then prime minister Kevin Rudd.

The brilliantly-monikered Steve Slayo, presumably known as Steve-o, pleaded guilty to four charges including one of inciting others to impair electronic communications and two of unauthorised access to restricted data.

The Melbourne court heard Slayo had been incensed by Conroy's plans to filter all internet access in Australia. He had written a protest letter which he had never posted, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. Instead he decided to protest with his keyboard.

The DDOS attacks, known as Operation Titstorm, was run via a group on 4Chan.

The court heard that while Slayo had previously sat in his bedroom at his computer "all hours of the night", he was now a more "balanced" lad, fond of sports, playing the piano and spending time with his girlfriend.

Slayo will be sentenced next month. ®
