Florida cops left stoned stunned by pot-filled SUV

A Florida Road Ranger was left holding his nose last week when an unconscious driver turned out to be packing 100lbs of pot plant.

The ranger apparently spotted the Chevy Tahoe pulled over on the median of the Pametto Expressway in Doral last Thursday, MSNBC reported.

As he approached the car he noticed that the driver appeared to be sparko. The ranger then noticed an overpowering smell of marijuana.

The ranger apparently roused the driver before he was overpowered by the aroma of what turned out to be 100lbs of pot plant in the SUV, badly concealed with a few black bin bags.

The befuddled driver told the ranger that he was on probation, and said he'd slip the ranger a couple of bucks if he would drive him somewhere safe.

However, when a gaggle of Florida Highway Patrol officers turned up, the driver took to his heels, dashing across four lanes of traffic and down an embankment, and leaving his horticultural produce behind.

It must have been powerful stuff, as it appears to have induced an uncharacteristically relaxed attitude amongst the Florida Highway Patrol.

"This looks more like a cry for help than an actual crime," said a spokesman. "This person was definitely not trying to be discreet."

The Police said they were looking for a 5' 6" hispanic man in his 30s with tattoos on his upper arms. They are also thought to be looking for an extra large pizza and a round of mango fusion slurpees. ®
