Nine Inch Nails guy scores Facebook movie... bitch!

David Fincher's The Social Network is, like, totally dark, man

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor confirmed that he is writing the soundtrack for David Fincher’s upcoming film about Facebook - The Social Network.

He has been working with collaborator Atticus Ross on the score.

Reznor announced his involvement in the movie in a blog post on his website late last week.

“I've always loved David's work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realised what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned. Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on,” said the NIN singer and instrumentalist.

“Months later, I'm happy to tell you we're nearing the completion of this and I couldn't be happier with how it's turned out. The level of excellence that David operates on is inspiring and the entire process has been challenging and truly enjoyable.”

He said that the “scoring process” was nearly complete and added that they were now working on “distilling” the music Reznor and Ross have written “down to a satisfying record (or two)”.

The film itself will be released on 1 October in the US and Reznor expects the soundtrack to come out a few weeks prior to the movie’s arrival in cinemas.

“Speaking of the film” he enthused: “It's really fucking good. And dark!” ®
