Microsoft preps first Exchange Server 2010 service pack

TechEd SP1 beta coming in June

Microsoft dished up details of its first service pack for Exchange Server 2010 yesterday.

The company plans to slot updates and bug fixes into its email server software, alongside improved archiving and better message searching. Microsoft said it would offer feature tweaks to Outlook Web Access and an additional user interface for its management tasks.

Exchange Server 2010 SP1 will include “a roll-up of the roll-ups we've released to date,” Microsoft said.

A beta will be provided to TechEd members in June, the company’s email group product manager Michael Atalla confirmed.

Redmond’s Exchange Server 2010 SP1 announcement comes a few weeks after the vendor revealed a few details about a planned service pack for Windows 7, which Microsoft has yet to give a date for.
