Google extends Chrome for Fanbois

Google has released a new beta of its Mac-ified Chrome browser that accepts extensions and provides bookmarking syncing across disparate devices.

The Mountain View Chocolate Factory first released a beta Mac version of Chrome in December, but unlike the Linux and Windows incarnations, it didn't offer support for extensions or bookmark syncing until today.

Google announced the new Chrome for Mac beta this morning with a post to the official Google Chrome blog. You can download the new beta here, and if you're already running Chrome for Mac, your browser should be automatically updated over the next day.

According to Google, the beta- version 5.0.307 - can now be used with over 2,200 add-ons available from the company's extensions gallery. And in addition to offering multi-device bookmark syncing, it includes local bookmark and cookie managers designed specifically for the Mac and a new task manager for "keeping tabs on your tabs."

You can bookmark sync across all Chrome browsers on all supported platforms: Windows, Linux, and Mac. ®
