Manhunt 2 to hit UK on Halloween

Pitch-forks at the ready...

What better day to release the second most complained about game after Grand Theft Auto IV than 31 October, otherwise known as Halloween?

Yes, games developer Rockstar has confirmed that Manhunt 2 will make its first (official) bloody appearance in the UK at the end of this month on the Wii, PlayStation Portable, PS2 and PC.

The second game in the Manhunt series will have been out in the US for exactly one year by the time it arrives over here. UK game censor the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) tried to ban it from being released here because it claimed the game is too violent for “vulnerable adults”.

Rockstar and the BBFC fought their respective corners in the High Court last January. However, UK gamers breathed a sigh of relief when the High Court ruled, in March, that Rockstar must be allowed to distribute the game in the UK.

Manhunt 2 will carry an 18 certificate from the BBFC and cost around £28 ($49/€36). Click for the best prices on PC, PS2 and Wii.
