BenQ takes on iPod Shuffle with micro metal music player
MusiQ line is jewellery, apparently
Meet BenQ's new dog tag-styled MusiQ MP3 player, the Taiwanese consumer electronics company's follow-up to its Joybee range. The gagdet's kitted out in brushed metal and fitted with 512MB or 1GB of Flash memory, so BenQ clearly has its eye on Apple's wearable second-generation iPod Shuffle.
The MusiQ line will comprise two models: for the boys, Steel Wing - seen here - and, for the girls, Magic Bean. Steel Wing the metal model may be called, but it's made from an aluminium-magnesium alloy, BenQ admitted. Both ship with a necklace.
Both models contain a MicroSD card slot to allow you to beef up on the on-board song storage. Each has a USB port for data transfer and battery charging.
The MusiQ is due to go on sale in China on 15 December. There's no word yet on broader availability. ®
