Snoop Dogg entourage 'runs riot' at Heathrow

Shows battling supermodels how it's done

Updated Forget battling supermodels - LA gansta rapper Snoop Dogg and his entourage have shown May Andersen how it's really done by allegedly running riot in Heathrow's Terminal 1 after being refused entry to British Airway's VIP lounge.

Snoop Dogg and his entourage at Heathrow Dogg's 30-strong* posse (seen here in a pic by reader Phil Jones shortly before the alleged battle commenced) was en route to South Africa from the US when the rumpus kicked off, the Evening Standard reports. The VIP snub was apparently provoked by the fact that only a few of them had first-class tickets. They then allegedly became abusive towards airport staff, were "turned away from their flight" and went on the rampage "when police tried to guide them out of the airport" - in the process attacking a duty free shop.

A Heathrow worker told the Standard: "There were all these huge, 20-stone men smashing up display cabinets and throwing people around. I saw Snoop Dogg on the ground, with four riot police trying to put him in handcuffs. His minders were throwing bottles at people.

"There were 15 riot vans and eight police cars outside, with dog sniffer units. They were throwing the policemen around like pillows. Then the police used pepper spray on them."

Riot police took one hour to quell the disturbance. Six men, including Dogg, were arrested for violent disorder and affray. As he was led away, one of them shouted: "This is how it goes down in LA," presumably as a warning to Irish crooner Ronan Keating who reportedly witnessed the whole thing from the BA lounge. ®

Update

Snoop Dogg was released late this afternoon on police bail without charge, and will now travel to South Africa "to honour concert commitments", his lawyer said.

Bootnote

*Our snapper on the spot, Phil Jones, says that he only saw eight in the entourage, including Mr Dogg. He concedes that more may have joined the fray after he "legged it" for his flight.
