WTF is a 'lappy'?

Click here to kill/save techy barbarism

Poll Back in September last year our very own Lester Haines was left sobbing uncontrollably in a darkened room after readers voted to excise the word "mobe" from the Vulture Central lexicon.

It was, however - and despite the human suffering caused to slang-prone Reg hacks - a landmark moment in reader democracy.

Which is why we have decided to subject another term to the will of the people. Take it away Stuart Van Onselen:

Lappy?

LAPPY?!?!?!

Do Reg staff have some form of competition as to who can come up with the most offensive abbreviation/violation of the English language? This one beats "mobe" hands down!

Please don't ever use it again!

For the record, the people responsible for this outrage have agreed to abide by the poll result. Well, they haven't actually been consulted on the matter, but then that's proper UK-style democracy in action. Take it away:

Should El Reg prohibit the use of the word "lappy"?

Yes
No
