MCI offers voice and data combo

Voip-tastic

MCI is tempting UK businesses with cheaper communications services following the launch of a converged voice and data product.

MCI Advantage, as it's known, includes networked VoIP (voice over internet protocol) and hosted IP telephony, and is designed for companies looking to converge their voice and data networks and save money on the cost of calls.

Available now in the UK, the service is due to be rolled out in France and Germany later in the year.

Internet telephony is set to be massive over the coming years with analysts predicting that VoIP will make up 12 per cent of all telephony revenues in five years time.

Juniper also reckons the VoIP market will contribute $32bn, out of a total telephony market worth approximately $260bn, by 2009. Which is nice. ®
