With the recent Bush proposal on immigration, more than just Mexicans will come into the country. I'm sure a lot of Indians will too ... working for $20K a year compared to American IT worker of $40K-$100K ...

This will boost corporate profits, and let the rich get richer, while the middle class of America is destroyed and forced to live in poverty.

We will have to invoke our right to bear arms, and over take this government which only supports the rich corporate America in saving their a$$es.

It could be pointed out that federal US investment in basic research is scheduled to be $127 billion for the 2004 (if you include all R&D spending by the government and not subsidies), and that the major industrial R&D companies, like Lucent Technologies wasted most of their resources on bad financial or marketing deals, or on paying their chief exec's too much money. Their solution has been to cut R&D (Bell Labs is a shadow of its former self). The only companies not in a race to the bottom (like Apple and Microsoft) are the ones who continue to invest in basic research.

I could go on, but I'll stop there.
