Nude Net use all the rage in Yorkshire

Pants-only preferred in West Country...

One in ten Web users in Yorkshire have confessed to accessing the Net in the buff, according to a survey conducted by NOP on behalf of AOL UK.

It also found that three in ten West Country women claim they've accessed the Net in nothing but a pair knickers.

According to the poll (hey, it's a really slow news day, OK), home Net users in the South East, Scotland, Wales and East Anglia tend to be the best dressed preferring to wear their smart work clothes when online.

Half of all those quizzed in the Midlands said they liked to slip into their jim-jams to log on.

Thankfully, AOL UK has wheeled out psychologist Dr Susan Marchant-Haycox to tell us what all this means.

"Folk in the West Country who go online in their knickers or lingerie are probably more likely to conduct other daily chores such as cooking, cleaning and watching TV in minimal clothing too.

"Scottish, Welsh and East Anglian Internet users and those in the South East who prefer to keep their work clothes on are also more likely to remain well-dressed when they go about their other daily tasks.

"This shows how central the Internet has become to everyone's daily lives, as they are as relaxed online as when they're pottering at home in general," she said.

Is that clear? ®
