Apple workforce touch up iPhones with Force Touch tech – report

Apple has reportedly started using its so-called Force Touch technology in new models of its iPhone handsets, which have apparently now hit the production line.

According to Bloomberg, Cupertino's upcoming iPhones will be kitted out with touch-sensing haptic displays that push back on your fingertips if the pressure is too hard.

That tech already features in the Apple Watch and the iThing maker's trackpad of its latest MacBook Pro.

Bloomberg, which cited anonymous insiders in its report, added that the new iPhone model would be produced with a similar exterior design and the same sizes as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets.

Indeed, some commentators have already labelled the yet-to-be-revealed device "iPhone 6S".

Volume manufacturing could come as early as July, the report said. But production of the new iPhone will – as ever – rely on the supply chain. ®
