Tesco broadband goes TITSUP, world keeps turning on wobbly-wheeled trolley

Total Inability To ... oh, wait, who cares?!

Tesco's broadband service went titsup this afternoon and remained out of action as The Register went to publication.

The UK's largest supermarket chain agreed to offload its fixed line broadband customer base of around 75,000 subscribers to TalkTalk in January this year.

The network is in the process of being transferred over to budget telco TalkTalk, which is run by ex-jockey Dido Harding.

However, when El Reg put this question to a TalkTalk spokesman, we were given this "don't blame us" response:

We haven’t started migrating customers over to TalkTalk yet so no.

TalkTalk said at the start of this year that Tesco Broadband customers would be shunted across to its network "over the coming months."

Tesco Broadband confirmed the nationwide technical cockup on its official Twitter account, just after 1:30pm today.

However, Tesco Broadband was yet to explain why its network had gone completely off its trolley. ®
