Kim Dotcom flails desperately, launches chat service
Rotund robberbarron moves forward with defense measure
Kim Dotcom has set off on his new service to challenge Skype and other video platforms.
The Megaupload boss has put forth the beta release of his MegaChat service with a Tweet:
#MegaChat beta step by step. Starting with video calling today. Text chat & video conferencing will follow soon.

According to Dotcom, the new service already has 15 million registered users and could surpass 100 million by the end of the year, should things go right for the Megadownload Megaloman.
#Mega has over 15 million registered users now. I think #MegaChat could elevate us to 100+ million users by the end of 2015. #Prediction

Dotcom is seeking to grant the public free files despite being the key figure in a copyright infringement case brought by a handful of large US companies.
US authorities have sought to bring down Mister Dotcom on allegations that his Megaupload service was the hub for pirated content. The flabby fugitive has in exchange offered a bounty for evidence on those who would seek to destroy the Megaupload boss.
Dotcom's Mega file locker looks to be a modest success, but his attempts to influence New Zealand politics flopped and he remains embroiled in numerous lawsuits that threaten his cash stash and liberty. He has, however, taken steps to distance himself - legally - from the current crop of Mega ventures. ®
