Handy synopsis for you

A year ago our Regcast What's the fuss about flash? showed you where it was useful, where it had a return on investment, and how to deploy it for the niche applications for which it was applicable.

A lot can change in 12 months. With flash prices tumbling, it’s now possible to think about all-flash storage, or use it in places and for apps that we wouldn’t have considered this time last year — but to this effectively; you need to solve a new set of management, security and configuration questions. So we’ve decided to update the story, with help from James Hall and Phil Gilbert at HP.

They’ll be telling us what’s happened to flash performance and prices in 2014, and showing how that opens up a range of ideas and possibilities for using it throughout your data centre. Joining them, Tony Lock from Freeform Dynamics will be giving us your views on storage, and looking closely at how to manage flash for optimum performance and security. The session will be full of practical advice, so if you’re considering upgrading your storage with flash, don’t miss it.
